Those who make the claim that God created Adam and Eve, not Adam andSteve, are surprisingly and astonishingly accurate. Maybe they read, atleast this one scripture in the Bible. They use this much touted and greatlymisunderstood scripture which reads:

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleaveunto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Initially, when the prophets wrote the Word of God, man was as a baby.He was not sophisticated in his thought processes or his knowledge of lifefor man on earth. After Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden, man's recollection of God's Plan for Mankind and all knowledge was takenaway from him. Adam and Eve had to learn starting at the very basics. Adamand Eve had to learn about themselves, about the earth, about the plantsand about the animals. Adam and Eve were as unsophisticated infants whowere self-centered and concerned only about themselves. Adam lived for930 years during which time, man increased in knowledge. But it is factitiousto believe that man thought or even cared about animals beyond the realizationthat animals were substancence for man and man was given dominion overthe animals and every creeping thing on earth. Adam and no doubt Eve, wereconcerned about their survival and the survival of their descendants, notabout the survival of horses, cows or pigs. In the beginning, they walkedand talked with God but that is certainly not to say they were intellectuallyon the same level. Everything man was told by God, man interpreted as beingregarding and concerning himself, his own existence and survival.

The story of the creation is a beautiful example of God's telling manthat which he was able to comprehend. Just as God didn't expect Adam andEve to grasp the basics of Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Chemistryor even Physics, things which were extremely elementary to Him, God toldman what he could understand. In the 20th Century, people get off by sayingthis is only telling half he truth and therefore a lie. For those who areinclined to call God a liar, before I concede with you that in your opinionGod lied, let me ask you, "When your 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 year old son or daughterasks you where babies come from, how many of you are going to sit themdown and even if you could, give them a detailed course in Anatomy andReproduction 101 not to mention the advanced post graduate level courses? No one! You're becoming sophisticated because I doubt anyone would if youcould. God is no different.

When God related to man the story of the creation, you honestly expectedGod to go into detail and explain how He created the heavens and the earth?Would man have even been able to comprehend what he was told even if manhad been able to record it? Remember, even a written language was justnew to man. For man to learn about the animal kingdom would have requiredan elementary course in "The Difference between Man and Animal 101," evenbefore the remedial course in Biology 101.

When God said He created the heavens and the earth in 7 days, you cantake that to the bank. But, one then has to ask him or herself, is oneday to man equal to one day with God? The revealed Word of God of thatit is not but again, that gets into belief. Are you mature and sophisticatedenough to comprehend the truth or are you a literalist who believes whatis written because it is written! For those of you who are Christian andare literalists, let me first remind you that you are dealing with a bookthat has been translated several thousand times, not by God's Urim andThummin, or Seer Stones, but man's own ability and intellect. If you area Christian literalist, you're going to hell because you deny Christ, thehead of your faith and because for example according to Leviticus 19:19,you can't wear a polyester jump suit, skirt or blouse because it was mingledwith cotton.

He that hath understanding, explain what is meant by:

Isaiah 36:12
12 But Rabshakeh said, Hath my master sent me to thy master and tothee to speak these words? [hath he] not [sent me] to the men that situpon the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own pisswith you?
2 Kings 18:27
27 But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? [hath he] not [sent me] to the men whichsit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their ownpiss with you?
Deuteronomy 28:53
53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thysons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in thesiege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:
Deuteronomy 25:11
11 When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the onedraweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smitethhim, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets:

12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity [her].

Deuteronomy 23:1
1 ¶ He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy membercut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.
1 Samuel 5:9
9 And it was [so], that, after they had carried it about, the handof the LORD was against the city with a very great destruction: and hesmote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods intheir secret parts.
1 Samuel 6:4
4 Then said they, What [shall be] the trespass offering which we shallreturn to him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice,[according to] the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague[was] on you all, and on your lords.
or even
Malachi 2:4
3 Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces,[even] the dung of your solemn feasts; and [one] shall take you away withit.

Jesus Christ, the founder of your religion, said,

Matthew 5:17
17 ¶ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets:I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil (sic).

Clearly, you can not interpret the Bible literally in every case butyou must interpret it with the Spirit of God. The Apostle Paul said,

1 Corinthians 2:11
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of manwhich is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spiritof God.

The early writers and scribes recorded the truth as they understoodit. Man was the center of that understanding and the purpose for any lifeon earth. When man recorded Genesis 2:24

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, andshall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

the prophet was merely explaining how God was able to create theheavens, the earth and all life thereon by simply issuing to the elementsan order and it was done. Man was not sophisticated enough to realize that, that edict pertained not only to the reproduction of all human life butalso animal life as well. By so stating:

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, andshall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

the early prophets were enunciating that this was how God orderedthe universe as it pertains to earth for purposes of procreation for alllife. That is the only relevance and significance of Genesis 2:24.
